In occupied Kashmir, the
Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq
has strongly condemned attacks by Hindu fanatics on Muslims’
houses and shops in Jammu, Rajouri, Samba and Bhadarwah.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar the APHC Chairman said
that Indian agencies in collaboration with Hindu communal
parties were acting upon the plans of creating communal discord
amongst people of Kashmir adding that the people of Kashmir
would not allow such nefarious designs to succeed.
Meanwhile, talking to Amarnath pilgrims at Dalgate in Srinagar,
Mirwaiz asked the yatris to be aware of the communal elements
portraying that Kashmiris are not in favour of the pilgrimage.
“Nobody in Kashmir is against the pilgrimage. You are our guests
and we are here to help you in solving your problems.”
Earlier, Mirwaiz while leading a Hurriyet delegation visited the
families of two youth Ghani Shaikh and Farooq Ahmad, martyred by
the Indian troops and police during the recent protest against
the transfer of Kashmiris’ land to non-Kashmiris, and expressed
solidarity with the bereaved.
Hurriyet leaders attacked in Jammu
In occupied Kashmir, the Hindu extremists associated with Shiv
Sena attacked the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Jammu leaders,
Des Raj Sharma and Moulvi Bilal and critically injured them in
Jammu region.
Shiv Sena extremists led by Rajesh Gupta forcibly entered the
office of Des Raj Sharma when he was addressing a press
conference at Nanak Nagar residence in Jammu and beat him up.
Later the extremists set his office ablaze. The injured Hurriyet
leader was immediately admitted in a hospital for treatment.
The Hindu extremists entered the house of another Hurriyet
leader, Maulvi Bilal at Bilawar in Kuthwa and mercilessly beat
him up.
Mirwaiz condemns attack on Muslims in Jammu
region
In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet
Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned attacks
by Hindu fanatics on Muslims’ houses and shops in Jammu, Rajouri,
Samba and Bhadarwah.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar the APHC Chairman said
that Indian agencies in collaboration with Hindu communal
parties were hell bent upon creating communal discord amongst
people of Kashmir. He maintained that the people of Kashmir
would not allow such nefarious designs to succeed. Mirwaiz
announced that July 13, the martyrs’ day, will be observed as
Youm-e-Istaqlal.
Meanwhile the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference,
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed
Ali Gilani have appealed the people to massively march towards
Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar, on Friday (today), to convey the
message to the world that the Kashmiris and their liberation
leaders are solidly united to achieve their right to self
determination. The APHC Chairman will lead a procession from
Jamia Masjid to Hazratbal after Juma prayer. The occupation
authorities have put Syed Ali Gilani under house arrest to
prevent him from leading the march.
The APHC spokesman said in a statement in Srinagar today that
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Gilani will jointly address a
big public gathering at Hazratbal on the occasion.
