18 March 2009 Srinagar, March 18 (KMS): In
occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference
has reiterated that Indian state terrorism will not
deter Kashmiris from continuing their struggle to
secure the right to self-determination. The APHC
Chairman, Mirwiaz Umar Farooq while addressing a
gathering in Srinagar, today, said, Kashmiri martyrs’
sacrifices will never be allowed to go waste and the
day was not far off when the people of Kashmir would
achieve liberation from Indian bondage.
The gathering was convened to mourn the death of
prominent liberation leader, Ghulam Mohammad Butt.
Among those present on the occasion included Maulana
Abbas Ansari, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Agha Syed Hassan
Al-Moosvi and Fazl Haq Quershi.
On the other hand, APHC leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan,
Yasmeen Raja, Zafar Akbar Butt and the Executive
Director of Kashmir Center London, Professor Nazir
Ahmad Shawl in their separate statements hoped that
the national reconciliation on the judges’ issue in
Pakistan would further strengthen democratic
institutions in the country.
Addressing a seminar in Geneva the APHC leader of AJK
Chapter, Altaf Hussain Wani said that the surge in
Hindu extremism in India had become a big threat to
the peace and stability of South Asia.
Five persons including two children died in separate
road accidents in Srinagar, Budgam, Awantipora and
Jammu areas. »
‘Kashmir Settlement Imperative For
Regional Peace’
The illegally detained leader of All Parties Hurriyet
Conference and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s
Movement, Ghulam Muhammad Mir has said that the
settlement of Kashmir dispute in accordance with
Kashmiris’ aspirations is imperative for maintaining
permanent peace in South Asia.
Ghulam Muhammad Mir was talking to a party delegation
led by General Secretary Zafar Khurshid Mirza that met
him at Apalo Hospital of New Delhi. Ghulam Muhammad
Mir has been admitted to the hospital last month after
a paralysis attack at notorious Amphala jail of Jammu.
He emphasised the delegates to continue liberation
struggle till its success as amicable and negotiated
solution of Kashmir dispute could normalise relations
between the two neighbouring nuclear countries besides
bringing peace in the region.
The illegally detained APHC leader also appealed the
world community and international human rights
organisations to put pressure on India to stop gross
human rights violations by Indian troops on the people
of occupied Kashmir. » |
