Lebanese Community In Gambia Gives To National Association

The Lebanese Community in The Gambia, under the presidency of Youssef Ezzeddine (Rambo), last Friday donated football jerseys and trophies to the National Inter-departmental Sports Association (NISA), at a ceremony held at the NISA president's office.

The donated jerseys are earmarked for the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) and Immigration Department, who are the finalists in the NISA sports competition, and are meant to boost their morale during the final. Speaking at the ceremony, Pa Modou Faal, the public relations officer of NISA, expressed gratitude to the Lebanese community for their support.. He described them as true friends of the people of The Gambia. He used the occasion to thank the president of NISA, Chief of Defence Staff Major General Lang Tombong Tamba for his unflinching support over the years.

For his part, the president of the Lebanese Community in The Gambia, Youssef Ezzedine (Rambo) said their presentation was a thank you for the way Gambians treat them. He described the NISA tournament as something that brings about friendship among people of different departments. He thanked CDS Tamba for his support towards the development of sports in The Gambia and expressed hope that the relationship between the Lebanese community and the Gambian people will continue to flourish.

Receiving the donated items, Major General Lang Tombong Tamba, the president of NISA, thanked the Lebanese community for their good initiative. He said the Lebanese people here in The Gambia are playing very crucial roles in the socio-economic development of The Gambia. According to him, this is not the first time such a gesture is coming from the Lebanese to NISA. He then urged them to continue contributing to the development of the country particularly sports..

CDS Tamba then used the occasion to reiterate the need for unity among people, saying NISA is here to unite people from different working places.

Cadet Spt of Immigration, Babucarr Jarju, and Ebrima Bun Sanneh of the National Drug Enforcement Agency thanked the donors for the gesture.
