More Warnings Of Israeli infiltration Into Arab And Islamic Countries
3 July 2009
Ismail Radwan, a leading political figure in Hamas Movement, has warned of the Israeli attempts to expand its normalization of relations with Arab and Islamic countries. The Hamas leader was commenting on the visit of Israeli president Shimon Peres to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan at the head of a senior level delegation to normalize relations with those two Islamic countries and to sign cultural agreements. The visit would include a speech by Peres at a conference for religious leaders in Azerbaijan. Radwan told Quds Press on Monday that his Movement views with utmost concern the Israeli attempt to expand its normalization of relations with Arab and Islamic countries, which he said would be at the expense of the Palestine cause. He asked the Arab and Islamic countries not to normalize ties with Israel that committed and still is committing massacres against the Palestinian people, citing as proof the recent war on Gaza other than plots to judaize occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque. Radwan opined that the establishment of relations with Israel on the part of a number of Islamic countries had encouraged it to establish relations with other countries that did not care about the blood of Gaza women and children shed at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces. The Hamas leader asked the Arab and Islamic regimes to sever all relations with and isolate the Hebrew state, and appealed to the propagators and intellectuals in those countries to spread public awareness in their communities on dangers of such normalization. UN fact finding mission initiates hearing sessions with war victims in Gaza Meanwhile, the UN fact-finding mission sent to the Gaza Strip held Sunday its first public hearing session with victims of the Israeli war and listened to testimonies of two of them. The public hearings are scheduled to continue for two days. One of the two citizens called Moussa Al-Sailawi, 91, presented his testimony about the Israeli bombing of a Mosque in Jabaliya which killed 17 civilians including his son and four other members of his family. The mission intends to listen to testimonies of dozens of other victims in addition to international experts and eyewitnesses in order to be able to report about the Israeli war crimes committed during 22 days in Gaza. The mission headed by South African judge Richard Goldstone is expected to finish its report at the beginning of August and to publish the investigation results the following month. The mission visited 40 different sites in Gaza and talked to dozens of witnesses and relatives of victims including the family of Al-Sammouni who lost 29 of their members.
