Indian Atrocities Against Kashmiris Increased To Alarming Proportion

In occupied Kashmir, the President of Bar Association, Mian Abdul Qayoom has urged the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations. Talking to Kashmir Media Service in Srinagar after his re-election as the President of the Bar, Mian Abdul Qayoom deplored that the authorities had kept illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists in miserable conditions. The world human rights organizations, he added, must be cognizant of the fact that the rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory had increased to alarming proportion. In Shopian, a big procession was taken out to condemn the gory incident of the molestation and murder of two women. The Acting Chairman of Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, addressing a gathering in Bandipore said that the liberation struggle would continue despite all odds. Aasiya Andrabi is under illegal detention in Amphala Jail, Jammu, under Public Safety Act (PSA). The Dukhtaran-e-Millat at its meeting of advisory council held here with its Acting Chief Rifa’at Fatima in chair said that the puppet administration was trying to suppress the ongoing freedom movement by use of brute force but it would never succeed in its nefarious designs. “As a part of its coercive policy the occupation authorities detained senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Aasiya Andrabi and other pro-liberation leaders and activists,” said a spokesperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat in a statement issued in Srinagar. She deplored that Jammu and Kashmir had been changed into a police state, adding that Aasiya had been detained in a room with 30 other women convicted in criminal charges to subject her to severe mental torture. » World asked to help stop Indian state terrorism The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has appealed to the international human rights organisations to take cognisance of the stepped up Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in a statement said that innocent young men and women were the target of the brute force being resorted to by Indian police and troops in the occupied territory. He said that three innocent youth were killed in Tangdhar area of Karnah while women were molested in at Gundchabotra in Handwara. Professor Shawl called upon the international community to impress upon India to stop its coercive policy to suppress the people’s sentiment, adding that the United Nations should also play its dutiful role to protect the life and dignity of the suffering people in the occupied territory. The Executive Director also appealed the UN Human Rights Commissioner to send special rapporteur to take stock of the ground situation in occupied Kashmir. »
